Languages = ♥

Gettin some practice in on the language tip. I need to brush up on my Russian, German and Arabic. Well, I need to brush up on a lot, but I'll pace myself.

Anyhoo, picture time!
I drew this when I was a teen, dunno who it is...some guy.

до свидания ♦ Auf wiedersehen ♦ مع السلامة

Just a thought...

Instability and confusion make for beautiful art.

I love art because it allows me to dream when awake...if I want to dream with eyes closed, I turn to music; with eyes open, I turn to paper.

Old school

I did this for my pops 4 years ago. He had an appointment sometime in '05 to get tatted up, but he was a no show! He still talks about getting it done...just gives me a reason to bust his balls. He's scuuurrrred.

There's a lot of symbology goin' on in this one. The anchor represents the Navy, and then the lightning and quill extend this by representing the Cryptology rate. My father, his wife, my mother, my dad, me and my cousin were all CT's ...purely coincidence. In the back, connected to the anchor, is the Free Mason symbol. The names on the tat are that of his wife and mother. Lastly, we have the anchor chain. Each link represents a child.

Tramp Stamp Material

Here are some tribal designs I did, IDK I was just experimenting at the time, but I liked the turnout of these.

Bloggy Mood

As the title states, I'm in "Bloggy Mood" not to be confused with a "Blah Mood" even though I could imagine these things go hand in hand sometimes :)

I lost all of my music a few weeks ago, and I've manged to recover about 5000 songs to date...I feel so much better having my music! I basically have music playing 24-7...with the exception of Football games, the occasional movie, and when I'm working on my own music. I can never get bored of a song, no matter how many times I hear it, because I hear something new everytime; everyday can make for a new interpretation.

Lately I've been on a Björk and Portishead kick.

All of that aside, I've decided to share some past and present art more often...so here's one I did a while back for someones Harley trailor. This was my first airbrush job...I did it for an acquaintence named Norman. He gave me a picture of what he wanted and asked me to airbrush it for him, to which I replyed "I don't know how to airbrush" Norman then tells me "Eh, I think you can do it." Then he bought me a new airbrush kit and pod compressor and sent me off.

This is what I came up with:
I coated the final product with glass bead, so when headlights shine on the image it puts off a nice glowing effect, like the lines on a highway. (Thanks to American Tennis courts for the glass bead!!)

I had a chance to see the eagle on the trailor just a short while ago, when I volunteered at the annual DC Barbeque, where I happened to be working for Norman at Hog Bites BBQ (yummy). This company travels from Florida to New Jersey doing various events feeding the crowds some BLAZE BBQ. Very nice to know I have a lil mobile art out there!! ☺☻

Battle of the Arts

I ran away from Bmore and headed to DC last night to checkout some of their artists. I absolutely loved the show. I ended up seeing a group called The Five One. They're very eclectic, and it's more than obvious that they are influenced by all things music...open as all artists should be. I could pinpoint some of their influence, but probably just a cunt hair, I know there's much I missed. I heard everything from Sublime to Rage to Mos Def and everything in between and on the outside. Biiiig ups. The feeling I got while listening to them was that of "Whaaa...holy....uhhh...YES!" or something to that extent. So refreshing...SO DAMN REFRESHING. Left me wanting more.

Onward, I've been neglecting my drawing and design for my love of music lately...so I finished this song I was working on, and now I can get my head back on track with the other side of art.

Before I do tho, this song I was working on is called The Chaos (Ups-n-Downs) and it's spit on a sort of up-beat, fast tempo, techno based, hip hop beat.. I can't wait to actually record it.. obviously reading and hearing are two different things.

"Wanna hear it, here it goes..."

An oldy

I turned my son into a cartoon last year...playing around, being silly, but I just came across it, so I thought I would share.

15 September 2009

Awesoooooome

Wanted to share some baby art. It might not be as exciting to someone without kids...buuut, it's exciting to me! I think this is very good for a 3 year old, personally. Alaña amazes me with her art every day. She is CONSTANTLY drawing...she's drawing right now! LOL. Without further ado, the crayon and highlighter art...
She has informed me this is a "girl turtle, named Aleez."

FINISHED...Wahooo!

Alright, well here's the final product...
...hmm, can openers are pretty. LOL.

Illustrator...blegh!

So I've been messin with Illustrator for about a week now, and I have come to the conclusion thaaat...I still like Photoshop.

Fortunately my lil' bro is an Illustrator novice in need of Photoshop assistance, so we're makin' trades. But tell me, why the hell does he do something, and it works for him, and then when I repeat these actions - no dice. A big fat grrr to you, Adobe Illustrator.

Illustrator hates me, and I hate it back.

Here's hopin' we can work out our differences.

My shoulder hurts. Too much computer.

2 CHILDREN FOR SALE

Remind me again why I had kids??

I walked into my bedroom today only to find this. I gasped, as Alaña sat on the bed with an about-to-cry face telling me, "It was aaaallll Tre, Mommy. It was alllll Tre. I just couldn't find any paper. I wanted to draw, but Tre did it. I just needed paper. I know you're mad, but it was all Tre." When I asked how Tre drew all over his own back, she stuck to her guns "He did it." Tre's only comments were that "We're monsters, arrggghhh!"

I'm so glad my sharpies were still on my desk after the abstract drawings...hooray.

03 September 2009

Whatcha been up to? I will tell you.

I found this site, WeMix...well, I didn't really find it, Ludacris posted it on his Twitter. Anyways, I joined and added some songs. Feel free to check them out, rate if you want. For a little forewarning, if you're not into bawdy things, just don't click the link. Afterall, I was a sailor.

On to other things, here's a little snippet of this project we're all slavin' away on. I wasn't sure if I liked the angle I chose. I'm gonna get to the Illustrator portion today...if my incessant procrastination allows it. I'm such a die-hard Photoshop user, but I suppose I can switch it to AI for the sake of process. I'm anxious to see everyone's creations...and my own for that matter.

Happening now: So, my little brother is also going for his Associates in G.D. He's already taken this class, actually. He also goes to AACC, but on campus. He's working on a similar project, only he has to draw 100 versions. He's drawing a frog. We're on the phone right now, peep the convo... I just told him "I'm updating my blog" To which he questions, "You're updating your frog??" lol, I obnoxiously articulated "Bahlooog" He laughed "Oh, sorry, I've just got frog on the brain."
Well, it amused me at least.

I've got the itch...

I'm missing the booth SO bad! I need to just set up a home studio again because right now actually going to a studio is so far out of the question for me...
...all things that I lack.
Shaka (The Voice of Baltimore Hip-Hop) told me he'd hook me up with the"inner-circle" deal. The longer I'm out of the game, the more I fear being pushed from such circle. I guess it shouldn't bother me, I'm just not ready to close that chapter. Stubborness and pride...oh, what they do to me. People are messaging me for shows, shoots, collabs..I am stuck! I haven't done an event since May, that's crazy.  (btw, click the spitters club pic to peep the show)

I'm out of my element here in Anne Arundel County.

I miss Bmore right now!
For now, I'll continue writing. At least I know when I step back in the booth, I'll have much to say. I can not wait to get this LP done!!! Right now, my friends jokingly decided it will be called "More than just sex and weed" If you're curious at all, Check out my Myspace. What is found there is a far cry from any of my deep music. I can't wait to sing out, to truly express... to laugh and cry on the track. I was the labels gimmick, and it worked. So many times I would be at work producing, and at some point during the session would hear some form of, "Wow, Mulatic really knows her shit." It took a long time to gain any sort of respect in the industry, but felt so good when it finally happened.

Wow, ranting away, when all I really wanted to say is:
 I've got the itch...
